Groberg Addresses Democratic Convention in Philadelphia

UMUC student and Medal of Honor recipient Florent Groberg was a speaker at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last week.

Groberg said: “I am here tonight not as a Democrat or a Republican. I’m here as a proud immigrant to this country, a proud veteran of the United States Army and proud recipient of our country’s highest military honor.”

In his speech, he also recounted the incident in which he tackled a suicide bomber and was severely injured while on a tour of duty in Afghanistan. His heroism was recognized with the Medal of Honor, bestowed on him by President Barack Obama at the White House in December 2015. Groberg was the subject of a cover story in the latest issue of Achiever magazine.

Groberg spoke on Thursday, July 28, the same day that Hillary Clinton made history by becoming the first woman to be a major-party nominee for president of the United States.

  1. Hello,

The Republican Convention and GOP satisfy a schedule by date of this event in history of Pennsylvania’s City of Brotherly Love. The building has mass media reporting for more than seven days of this political party symbol called a donkeys that is red, white and blue with stars. This is an interpretation of our American flag and elephants had cartoonist like Dr. Seuss criticized about his artistic expression. Opinions concerning candidates about the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Amendments with debates of future plans reported in the news and seen on television commercials. The office of homeless services for Veterans that request outreach units after chronic panhandling challenges lawmakers having proven ability to communicate necessity according to law. Advocate against senseless evicitons loss of employment and transportation that are harmful to one’s life. Can be seen extremely destructive causing interference with work to gain income, food to eliminate risk and housing as a form of punishment. Growing concerns that outlaws campaigning military operations as read in Campaign magazine articlse in media franchising and leadership. Shows the majority that these dates are only to initiate problems and major issues our country exhibits at a Congressional magnitude.
