Jessica Boriello

Jessica Boriello_Author Shot_downloadJessica Borriello is the marketing communications coordinator at UMUC Europe in Kaiserslautern, Germany. She is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and Webster University. Jessica served as a communications officer in the U.S. Air Force from 2008 to 2013, in locations such as Alaska, Illinois, Afghanistan, and Africa. Prior to UMUC Europe, Jessica worked in public relations at The Doe Run Company in St. Louis, Missouri, and as an outreach specialist for the Office of Women’s Business Ownership at the Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C.


Gilbert  Klein

Gil Klein is an Arlington, Virginia-based freelance writer and Director of Journalism for American University’s Washington Semester Program. For 22 years, he was a national correspondent for the Media General News Service in Washington, D.C., writing national news for 23 newspapers owned by the Media General Corporation. He was the 1994 president of the National Press Club and wrote its centennial history: “Reliable Sources: 100 Years at the National Press Club.”


Carole Mahoney

Carole Mahoney is a former broadcast and print journalist, and recipient of the 1992 North Dakota Newspaper Association’s Best News-Feature Series award. In the mid 1990’s, she served as a manager of constituent communications in the United States Senate, and for the past 21 years as the senior writer and editor for education-related organizations in greater Washington D.C.


Menachem Wecker

Menachem Wecker is a freelance journalist based in Washington, D.C. He holds a master’s in art history from George Washington University, and he is co-author of the 2014 book “Consider No Evil: Two Faith Traditions and the Problem of Academic Freedom in Religious Higher Education” (Cascade Books). He was formerly the education reporter at U.S. News & World Report.
