(Oct. 18, 2018) — University of Maryland University College (UMUC) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), one of the nation’s largest rapid transit systems and the major transit provider for Philadelphia and surrounding counties, to offer eligible employees, their spouses and dependents the opportunity to complete degrees or pursue higher education at UMUC at discounted rates. Through the agreement, employees, spouses and dependents are eligible for a waiver of UMUC’s application fee and non-Maryland residents can receive a 25-percent discount on out-of-state tuition rates for most programs.Continue Reading

University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and the National Security Agency’s National Cryptologic School (NCS) have signed an agreement that will create an additional pathway for NSA employees, including active-duty military personnel, to increase their skills and gain academic credit toward degrees in cybersecurity and foreign languages from UMUC.
“It is our honor to partner with the National Security Agency and its National Cryptologic School in this important articulation agreement,” UMUC President Javier Miyares said during a signing ceremony held at the National Cryptologic Museum. Washington, DC – The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and University of Maryland University College (UMUC) signed a first-of-its-kind agreement to provide a 25 percent discount on out-of-state tuition rates on courses, certificates, and degree programs to all current Federal employees, spouses, and their legal dependents. Federal employees can begin to take advantage of this discounted tuition starting in the summer semester at UMUC; registration for the summer and fall semesters is now open.
